Falls Road crash: Chaotic scenes after five-car collision in west Belfast

Three adults and one child taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital

There were chaotic scenes on the Falls Road in Belfast on Monday after a five-car road traffic collision left several people injured, a car overturned and debris strewn across the road.

It is thought the incident, which happened at around 8pm close to the Royal Victoria Hospital, involved at least one stolen vehicle.


A witness said a car drove through traffic lights and struck a number of other vehicles and then ended up on its roof.

The witness said that three males got out of the overturned car and ran away.

Three adults and one child have reportedly been taken to hospital.

Police and emergency services are in attendance. The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.

Translink said bus services are now operating via the Grosvenor Rosd and Broadway.

There are no further details at present.
