Fans receive warning over bogus tickets for Carl Frampton fight

By Steven Alexander

Fight fans have been warned to watch out for fake tickets for Carl Frampton's next bout in Belfast.

The Jackal's highly-anticipated fight at the SSE Arena will be against Mexican Andres Gutierrez on July 29.

Tickets for the fight sold out within minutes of going on sale last month.

Thousands of fans who missed out were left angry after some appeared on resale websites at vastly-inflated prices.

Now it appears that counterfeit tickets are also on sale.

Last night, Frampton re-tweeted a warning from one Belfast fan who was duped.

Alana Rainey wrote: "Could everyone please look out for fake Carl Frampton tickets.

"Some man has sold loads to people in the last couple of weeks and unfortunately I'm one off the unlucky ones!"

Ms Rainey said the "ginger haired creep" used a fake name and used a house on the Antrim Road to meet for payment.
