Farmer's joy as dead son's tractor found after theft
A farmer was left delighted after a tractor that was stolen from his late son was returned to him, an MLA has said.
The New Holland tractor was taken from a farm in the Ballyreagh Road area of Poyntzpass on Monday night.
It was recovered on Wednesday about 20 miles away in the Concession Road area.
Ulster Unionist MLA Danny Kennedy, a friend of the family, who do not wish to be identified, said: "I spoke to the farmer this morning and he is obviously delighted at the return of the tractor.
"It was of great personal significance to him. It was his son's tractor and he used to work on the farm before he died a number of years ago."
The tractor has now been taken away for forensic examination.
In a statement, the PSNI said: "Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their continued support. Lifting the phone and making the call works."
