Father of IRA's Bobby Sands laid to rest at St Agnes' Church in west Belfas
The funeral of the father of republican hunger striker Bobby Sands has been held.
More than 100 people attended Requiem Mass for John Sands (91) at St Agnes' Church in west Belfast before his burial in the City Cemetery.
Mourners joined his wife Rosaleen, daughters Marcella and Bernadette, and son John jnr.
Mr Sands remained out of the media spotlight when his son emerged as the leader of the 1981 hunger strike, when 10 prisoners died in the Maze Prison while protesting over the removal of special category status.
Bobby Sands died at the age of 27 after a 66-day hunger strike, after being elected as an MP.
