Fermanagh photographer shortlisted in #MyHappyPlace competition

A Northern Ireland photographer has been shortlisted in #MyHappyPlace, a national competition designed help people across the UK feel better during the dark days of winter.

Laura Elliott, 25, who currently lives in Belfast, entered a photo she took in her family garden in County Fermanagh, called: 'Watching the sunset from my garden'.

Laura said: "I currently live in Belfast but I love nothing more than going home to County Fermanagh to visit my family.

"County Fermanagh has so much to offer, from its beautiful waterways to the tranquillity of its countryside."

The competition, created by National Accident Helpline, asked people all over the UK to share a photo of a place which makes them feel happy when they're ill, injured or simply feeling down.

Beth Powell, Marketing Director at National Accident Helpline, said: "During the bleak, wintry days of January and February, over 600 people from all over the UK sent us a photo of their 'happy place'.

"It just shows that, whether British people are injured, feeling ill or just a bit under the weather, we're able to find inspiration and comfort in the beautiful surroundings we cherish."
