Firearms found in security alert
Police have uncovered what they described as suspected firearms after a security alert in north Belfast.
Officers said the weaponry was linked to dissident republican activity.
Residents evacuated from the Etna Drive area during the security alert were allowed to return to their homes.
Superintendent Mark Purdon said: “The actions of police have undoubtedly thwarted attempts of these criminals to inflict death, injury and misery on the community of north Belfast.”
