By Rebecca Black

The funeral for a young man killed in a car crash in Fermanagh took place yesterday, while his best friend who died with him will be laid to rest this morning.

Sean Martin (18) from Pettigo, Co Donegal, and John Irwin (22) from Drumlegagh, Co Tyrone, had been travelling in a car together on Sunday afternoon.

Neither survived the horror crash which took place on the Pettigo Road heading towards Kesh.

Requiem Mass was held for Mr Martin yesterday at Pettigo Parish Church.

The former Colaiste Cholmcille pupil had been working in his father's firm JM Joinery as an apprentice and attending the South West College in Omagh along with his friend John Irwin.

Mr Martin is survived by his parents John and Grace as well as his brother Brian.

Mr Irwin's funeral is due to take place today at his home in Drumlegagh before burial at Ardstraw New Cemetery.

Castlederg High School paid tribute to its former pupil on Monday during its Armistice Day service.

Mr Irwin is survived by his parents John and June, brother James and sister Jill.
