Five held in mother murder probe

Five people have been arrested by police investigating the murder of a mother of five in east Belfast.

Detectives who last week said they were treating the death of Deborah Hunter, 50, as suspicious today announced they have now launched a murder probe.

Ms Hunter was found dead two weeks ago in her home at Finmore Court, off the Newtownards Road.

She had previously made a complaint of assault to police which was still under investigation at the time of her death.

Three men, aged 52, 46 and 33, and two women, aged 44 and 46, were detained in the east Belfast area today.

PSNI Detective chief inspector Alan Dickson said: "Officers are now treating her death as murder".
