Flat set alight in north Belfast arson attack

A flat has been set on fire during an arson attack in north Belfast.

At approximately 3.50am, it was reported that an empty flat was on fire in the Harrison Walk area of north Belfast on Wednesday.

It is believed that a wheelie bin was set on fire at the property which was empty at the time.

Detective Constable Gareth Hussey said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
