There have been reports of heavy flooding across Northern Ireland following downpours throughout the region.

Drivers are being urged to take extra caution on the roads due to the increasingly dangerous conditions.

That includes the M1, M2 and A1.

Areas which have been affected by flooding include the Main Street and Garvagh Road areas of Dungiven.

In addition, drivers are also asked to avoid the Main Street and Castlecat Road areas of Bushmills due to heavy rain.

Motorists are also being advised of localised flooding on roads in several areas in and close to Antrim.

Earlier in the day those enjoying the last rays of sun were asked to leave the water in and around the Portrush area due to looming electrical storms.
