Flying ban for air rage accused
Two men have been banned from flying on commercial airlines after they were charged with being abusive and threatening to a member of a cabin crew and being drunk while on an airline.
John Patrick Johnston (32), of Carnhill, and Paul Daniel McIntyre (31), of Ederowen Park, both in Derry, face three charges after an alleged incident on a Ryanair flight from Stanstead to City of Derry on August 16.
Neither man spoke during the brief hearing at Londonderry Magistrates Court and both were released on their own bail on condition that they do not fly on any commercial airline.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott, for Johnston, said his client would be seeking to have that condition lifted as he wished to visit friends in London at some stage.
Mr MacDermott said that while his client would not be flying with Ryanair, there were other airlines.
Both men will appear again on November 3.
