Former Derry City striker almost slices finger off in training ground accident
The former Derry City striker and the current Finn Harps GAA captain Kevin McHugh almost sliced his finger off in an accident which is set to end the footballer's season.
McHugh was hosting a coaching session in County Donegal when it's understood his wedding ring got caught in a fence.
He tweeted a graphic photo showing his bloody, severed finger with the caption "think that's my season over".
Incredibly, he drove himself to Letterkenny University Hospital and was then taken by ambulance to Galway University Hospital for surgery.
He later posted an image of him in the hospital bed saying that Twitter was "keeping me calmer than morphine".

His club sent their best wishes to him.
The Finn Harps said: "Best wishes to our club captain Kevin McHugh who will be on route to Galway Hospital by ambulance shortly to treat a very nasty injury following an accident today."
