Four fined for littering

Four people have been fined for littering offences at Belfast’s Magistrates Court.

Gerry Lee, from Marlborough Park Central in south Belfast, was fined £10 and ordered to pay costs of £66 for failing to respond to a notice for information, issued by Belfast City Council on May 18, 2010, in relation to a littering offence on April 24, 2010.

Matthew Murphy, from Lansdowne Road in north Belfast, was fined £20 and ordered to pay costs of £69 for failing to respond to a notice for information, issued by Belfast City Council on April 13, 2010, in relation to a littering offence on March 31, 2010.

Tracey Moon, from Boyne Court in south Belfast, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay costs of £69 for littering on June 3, 2010 in Boyne court.

Also fined £10 was Caroline McCann, from Islay Street in Antrim. She was also ordered to pay costs of £66 for failing to respond to a notice for information, issued by Belfast City Council on May 17, 2010, in relation to a littering offence on May 7, 2010. The prosecutions were brought by Belfast City Council.
