Four officers injured after police Land Rover overturned on Glenshane Road released from hospital

Four of the PSNI officers injured after their police Land Rover overturned in Co Londonderry have been discharged from hospital.

Another officer who was in the vehicle will remain in hospital overnight.

The incident happened at around 7.30am on Wednesday morning on the Glenshane Road between the Baranailt crossroads and the Ballhanedin Road.

The road which remained closed for the majority of the morning has since reopened.

Posting on the PSNI Foyle Facebook page officers thanked those who came to their colleagues' assistance.

Inspector Johnny Hunter said: "We are currently carrying out enquiries as to how this incident occurred but in the meantime both myself and the officers involved would like to express our gratitude to the many people who were at the scene and gave assistance."
