Four people have escaped injury in a gun attack on a house.

Two men and two women, aged between 18 and 50, were in the property in Falcarragh Drive in west Belfast when a gunman opened fire.

Police said the bullets ripped through the front door and became embedded in the stairs.

PSNI D etective Inspector Michelle Griffin said: "Police received a report at approximately 10.15pm last night that two shots had been fired from the footpath outside a house.

"The shots passed through the front door and embedded in the stairs."

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Musgrave Street PSNI station on the non emergency 101 number.
