Funeral for ex-Tele journalist Des McCartan in London
The funeral of the Belfast Telegraph's former Westminster correspondent Des McCartan will take place in London today.
Requiem mass will be held at Ealing Abbey this afternoon followed by cremation at Mortlake Crematorium.
Mr McCartan fractured his skull in a fall on March 22, the day of the terrorist attack on Westminster Bridge and the Houses of Parliament.
He was taken to St Mary's Hospital in west London, the trauma centre which was also treating victims of the attack.
Mr McCartan never regained consciousness and his life support was removed a week later.
He left the Belfast Telegraph in 2001 to work for the Labour Party's Robin Cook.
His death brought tributes from the worlds of both politics and journalism, including one from former Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Mr Blair said: "Des was a much respected, insightful and widely admired journalist, professional to the core."
