Mourners wearing the Qatar GAA shirt formed a guard of honour yesterday at the funeral of a Newry teacher killed in a horror dune buggy accident in Qatar in the Middle East.

Eamonn Morgan (24) and his girlfriend Charlotte Sant, who were both PE teachers, were enjoying a day out with friends when the tragedy occurred. Ms Sant, from Manchester, also died in the June 27 crash.

Yesterday hundreds lined the streets in a final farewell to the former St Coleman's College student after his funeral service at at Newry's St Brigid's Church.

Mr Morgan played for the Qatar club and a shirt could be seen resting against his coffin - bearing his nickname 'Morgy' spelled out in flowers - as it was transported in a hearse.
