GAA star Oisin McConville cooks up storm in TV contest
Former Armagh GAA star Oisin McConville has been cooking up a storm in the MasterChef Ireland kitchen and has made it down to the final four in the competition.
While he is best known for his football skills, Oisin (41) has impressed the judges so far on the celebrity programme, who described his latest duck dish as "perfectly cooked" and "definitely restaurant standard".
"The fact that I am still here is just getting ridiculous," Oisin said in the wake of last night's episode of Celebrity Masterchef on TV3.
"I didn't even know you could eat a duck without shredding it!"
The All-Ireland winner with Armagh in 2002 will now be hoping to continue his success in next week's semi-finals, where he is up against actor Simon Delaney, Eurovision star Niamh Kavanagh and charity boss Colm O'Gorman.
Dad-of-two Oisin, who is now an addiction counsellor and media pundit, has admitted that before the show his cooking skills were of a "very low standard".
