Games of Thrones star Michelle Fairley lands new role
A Northern Irish actress who met a grisly end in Game of Thrones is set to star in Arctic drama Fortitude.
Ballycastle's Michelle Fairley will join Lisburn star Richard Dormer, Hollywood A-lister Dennis Quaid, Scandi noir star Sophie Grabol and veteran British theatrical knight Sir Michael Gambon for the second series of the gripping mystery show.
Fairley's performance as Catelyn Stark in Game of Thrones, which was filmed in Northern Ireland, is best remembered for her betrayal and bloody death scene at the 'Red Wedding'.
Season two of Sky Atlantic's Fortitude will see the town gripped by explosive events, and a fresh murder will rock the community and plunge it into turmoil.
