Gang attack store steps up security
A shopping centre in Manchester where a group of teenagers from Portadown were attacked has pledged to work to prevent such an incident from ever happening again.
The attack on 14 Portadown College students on a school trip has been described by the senior investigating officer as "brutal" and "unprovoked".
It took place on Sunday evening when the group were subjected to verbal and physical abuse by a large gang of youths.
However, none of the boys were seriously injured.
Richard Paxton, general manager at the Trafford Centre described the attack as "totally unacceptable".
"We're working closely with Greater Manchester Police to provide them with everything they need regarding their enquiries and we're taking their recommendations to avoid it happening again," he said.
