A teenage girl has been left badly shaken after a gang of men singed her hair using a flaming aerosol can.

The incident happened in the Glenabbey Drive area of Londonderry on Friday April 14.

At around 9pm the teenager was sitting outside her house when a group of three or four men approached her and using an aerosal can and lighter created a flam and singed her hair.

She was not injured as a result but was left very badly shaken.

Constable Irvine would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this incident to contact police at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
