A man has been beaten up by a gang who forced their way into a flat in Belfast.

It happened in College Square North on Saturday some time between 4.45pm and 5pm.

Three men forced their way into the flat. One stayed at the front door and the other two assaulted the occupant.

He received minor injuries to his head.

Meanwhile, detectives are appealing for information following a second aggravated burglary in The Crescent area of Coleraine on Friday.

At approximately 5.25pm the occupier of the house answered a knock to his door.

On opening it a masked man forced his way in and assaulted him.

Police appealed to anyone who may have noticed a lone male, aged between 25-30 years old, walking from The Crescent on the path towards Harpurs Hill from 5.25pm to 5.45pm to contact them on 101.
