George Best drank every day for 40 years, says Calum

By Staff Reporter

George Best drank from eight in the morning to eight at night daily for 40 years, his son has said.

Celebrity Big Brother star Calum Best said he also drank to cope with his footballing father's death. The Manchester United star from east Belfast died in 2005 after losing his battle with alcohol.

"He gave it a go but he couldn't hack it. I'm devastated that I lost my old man so young," said Calum (33).

He also told celebrity blogger Perez Hilton: "Alcohol was never something I was worried about. I never woke up and drank all day. The only time I partied too hard was when I lost him and that was because I was traumatised."

On Friday Calum shared a kiss with fellow housemate, glamour model Cami Li.
