STUDENT MONTH AT BELFAST ZOO — February is student month at Belfast Zoo and students who buy one adult admission to the zoo will then receive a second admission free.

Both people must present valid student identification to take advantage of the offer.

CHINESE NEW YEAR AT BELFAST ZOO — Celebrate Chinese New Year at Belfast Zoo with a special trail around the zoo until Sunday, February 21.

Visitors will get the chance to find out which animal they are most like, as the zoo celebrates the Year of the Tiger.

BOWLS OPEN SESSION — Cave Hill Bowling Club is holding an open session every Monday in February, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

The club is located at 20 North Circular Road and all ages are welcome. There will be qualified coaches for beginners.

LOCAL LIBRARY EVENTS — There are various events happening at your local library.

There is story time for under eights every Saturday at 11.30am at Chichester Library.

There will be rhythm and rhyme every Tuesday at 2pm at Ligoniel Library. It is suitable for babies and toddlers accompanied by parents and carers.

Ligoniel will also host story time every Friday at 3.30pm, which is suitable for under 10s.

Glengormley Library will also be putting on a story time every Thursday at 3.30pm for children of primary school age.

DANCE AND THEATRE — After the success of previous production State of Matter, the 2Faced Dance Company return with a new work, choreographed by artistic director Tamsin Fitzgerald.

It will be on at the Theatre At The Mill, Carnmoney Road North, Newtownabbey, on Friday, February 19, and Saturday, February 20. A spokesperson for the theatre said: “Stunning athleticism, explosive abstract break dancing and masculine vulnerability combine in a piece which explores the space we occupy.

“Set to an electrifyingly intense and specially commissioned score, this is an hour of unstoppable, seemingly impossible movement performed by the all male company.”

MR HULLABALOO'S ENCHANTED ADVENTURES — Come dressed to have a ball and join Mr Hullabaloo at the Courtyard Theatre in Newtownabbey on February 27.

A spokesperson for the theatre said: “Have fun with Mr Hullabaloo and his cast of colourful puppets in the enchanted forest and prepare to enter a colourful world of brave knights, fairies and princesses.

“From magic mirrors to fire breathing dragons, once upon a time becomes happily ever after in this all new magical show.”

AUDIO VISUAL FESTIVAL — THE annual Audio Visual Festival at the Courtyard Theatre this weekend features slide presentations by amateur photographers from around Northern Ireland.

Friday night sees a variety of presentations from top enthusiasts from the United Kingdom, including some from the festival judge, commencing at 7.30pm.

Sessions on Saturday morning start at 10.30am with the judging of the presentations.

In the afternoon, some more presentations and explanations by the judges start at 2pm.

The prize distribution and showing of winning presentations gets under way at 7.30pm.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS GLENGORMLEY — An open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous in Glengormley is to take place at St Brigid’s Church on the Ballyclare Road on Tuesday, February 23, at 8.30pm. Everyone is welcome.
