Bangor-based Rathgael Gymnastics Club played host recently to Spelbound, winners of Britain’s Got Talent.

The troupe were making use of the club’s sprung floor facility to get in some precious practice time during their tour and in advance of the upcoming Acrobatic World Championships in Poland.

During their two day visit many of the club’s young members dropped in to watch some of the amazing balances performed at very close quarters.

Commenting on the visit club chairman, Andy McDowell said: “It has been a huge privilege for our club to be able to help Spelbound out in this way.

“Having watched them training, myself and others have been extremely impressed by the sheer intensity of their work ethic as individuals and as a team.

“There is no doubt that the benefits of this visit will be experienced by our competitive gymnasts for a considerable time to come and that positive vibe is something that quite simply cannot be bought.”

The Bangor club which has a membership exceeding 650 individuals is the only club in Ireland and the wider UK which offers such a wide range of gymnastics disciplines within the one facility.
