‘Head melting’ walk to raise awareness
While Belfast was holding its Pride March and the European Pipe Band competition was being held in Stormont, five people — with a small police escort — marched from City Hall to Parliament Building in Stormont to raise awareness for people personality disorders (PD).
The march was held by a small and new group called Head Melter — who want action taken to recognise personality disorder as a mental illness; appropriate action to help those with the disorder and services implemented to inform and help people with personality disorders.
In just over two hours the group made it from City Hall to Stomont Estate to meet Michael Copeland MLA to hand over their petition to the Assembly Health minister.
They are petitioning the Health Minister to increase services for people with personality disorders.
In a period of weeks they collected 500 names for the petition for better services for people with PDs.
