Health Trust in consultation

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is launching a four-month consultation on the future of acute services.

The proposals aim to make it easier for patients to access services such as general surgery, vascular surgery, and ENT across the city.

They also set out a plan which will end duplication of services on different sites and develop centres of excellence in each of the Trust's hospitals - Belfast City, the Mater, the Royal, and Musgrave Park.

Chief Executive William McKee said: “We want to make sure people get the best treatment possible, by the right person, in the right place, at the right time. And in doing this, we aim to support clinical staff achieve their objective to be in the top 25% of UK hospitals for quality of service provision and performance.

The Excellence and Choice - Right Treatment, Right Place consultation documents are available at www.belfasttrust.hscni.net.
