House targeted in 'hate' attack

A family has escaped injury after shots were fired at a house in an attack police are treating as a hate crime.

A number of windows at the home in the Whiterock Gardens area of west Belfast were damaged in the incident.

A man and woman and a number of children were inside the property at the time of the attack at 10pm last night.

It is understood the occupants were members of the travelling community.

Officers have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
