Published 27/05/2015

Translink has outlined special transport arrangements for golf fans heading to Royal County Down in Newcastle for the European Tour event.

Tens of thousands of additional visitors are expected to arrive in the busy seaside town, so commuters are being advised to plan travel in advance and leave extra time for journeys.

There will be enhanced bus services between the Europa Buscentre in Belfast and Newcastle every half hour, at peak times, from today until May 31.

Enhanced bus services will also run from Newry to Newcastle.

Translink said special golf Goldline coaches will operate from towns and cities across Northern Ireland, with tickets available to purchase online.

Ulsterbus Tours will also run special day return services from Belfast to Newcastle.
