Huge drugs haul just a ‘drop in the ocean’

A £130,000 cannabis seizure in Fermanagh has been described as a “drop in the ocean” by Sinn Fein MLA Phil Flanagan.
The major drugs haul was made at the weekend in the Brollagh Road are of Garrison on Saturday and follows the discovery of cannabis plants worth £350,000 in nearby Coa in March and another smaller seizure in Belcoo.
Mr Flanagan said more action, like educational programmes aimed at young people, was needed to combat “drug pushers” in the area.
“This seizure has greatly disrupted one single operation but it is merely a drop in the ocean when compared with the problem as a whole in Fermanagh and that is evidenced by the recent seizures,” he told the Impartial Reporter.
