Invitation to scale the heights at sky centre
Staff at a new state-of-the-art aerial activity centre overlooking Belfast are calling on thrill-seekers to come and try it out.
The £250,000 SKYTrek outdoor centre was officially opened yesterday by Agriculture Minister Michelle O'Neill.
The new centre, with more than 100 metres of aerial trekking, rock climbing and ziplines, is located in the heart of the Belfast hills at Colin Glen Forest Park.
The high-ropes centre is the first of its kind in Northern Ireland and is expected to attract thousands of visitors each year.
SKYTrek is the first of several capital projects planned for the 200-acre forest park.
Ms O'Neill said: "This innovative project demonstrates how natural resources and rural tourism can be successfully merged for the benefit of the local community."
A fun day is scheduled for this Saturday from 11am to 3pm.
