Janet's treasured brooch in memory of her partner
The distinctive brooch worn by Dr Janet Acheson is one of only 12 in the world. It represents a 'tongue in cheek' club of doctors created by an American colleague of Dr Hinds.
Known as the "physician retrivalists', each club member works on helicopters across Australia, the UK and America.
The brooch, given to John when he was made an honorary member, was worn by him while working.
His friend and fellow expert Dr Brian Burns, who headed a helicopter emergency medical service team in Sydney and who attended yesterday's event at Stormont, is also one of the 12 flying doctors in the club. Now John's badge is worn by Janet in his memory.
