Three women have been questioned by the PSNI in relation to the murder of former UDA boss John Boreland.

Mr Boreland, 46, was gunned down at Sunningdale Gardens as he walked to his flat on August 7.

The UDA leader's killers struck minutes after he left his local bar. He died at the scene.

The PSNI said: "Two women aged 29 and 30 were interviewed in Belfast, a third aged 24 was questioned in Carlise in the north of England.

"Files on all three will be submitted to the PPS as part of the overall investigation."
