Judge orders woman charged with assault on her mother (86) to have no unapproved contact with her
A woman charged with assaulting her 86-year-old mother must have no unapproved contact with her, a judge ordered today.
The prohibition was imposed as a condition under which defendant Catherine Strong was granted bail.
Strong, 49, appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court accused of a common assault on Mary Greer.
The alleged offence happened during an incident at an address in the city on Saturday.
Strong, of Argyle Street, Belfast, is further charged with assaults on a policeman and woman, and a civilian member of the force.
During a brief hearing defence solicitor Denis Moloney mounted a successful application for bail.
Granting Strong's release from custody, District Judge Fiona Bagnall ordered her to have no contact with Mrs Greer unless approved by social services.
The accused is due back in court on January 26.
