L-driving chef was 'stoned' and had child in front of car
A "stoned" motorist spotted by police driving erratically in Coleraine had a young child in the front with him, the town's magistrates court has heard.
Michael Mateusz Skiba (35), of Bath Street, Portrush, was driving a Honda Accord at Coleraine's Lodge Road Roundabout on October 13 last year.
When police approached, they saw a young child in the front seat. There was a strong smell of cannabis in the car and Skiba handed over a partly smoked joint.
A blood sample showed cannabis, amphetamines and Ecstasy, and £150 worth of cannabis later found in his home.
The part-time chef told police he had taken cannabis and felt "stoned" when driving.
Skiba admitted driving while unfit through drugs; two charges of possessing herbal cannabis; failing to display L plates and being on the road without a qualified supervising driver.
He was given four months in jail, suspended for two years; banned from driving for two years and fined £150.
