Man (19) shot in leg in Belfast's New Lodge district
A teenager has been shot in the leg in north Belfast.
The 19-year-old man was reportedly assaulted in the New Lodge area, possibly in the vicinity of Hillman Street, by a number of males.
He was then shot in the leg before being taken to hospital.
The shooting happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police are appealing for information.
The shooting comes two weeks after the high-profile gun attack on Michael McGibbon in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.
The 33-year-old taxi-driver had gone to meet his killers at Butler Place after refusing to come to the door when two paramilitaries visited his house in Ardoyne 24 hours earlier.
One of the gunmen's bullets struck the father on the thigh, severing a major artery and causing him to bleed to death as his wife Joanne, a nurse, cradled him in her arms.
The paramilitary group known as the 'New IRA' claimed responsibility for the shooting but said the intention was not to kill Mr McGibbon.
