Man, 20, seriously injured in Co Armagh attack

A 20-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked in Co Armagh.

He suffered head and face injuries during the attack in a field off Monaghan Road, Millford, on Sunday.

It is believed the victim lay undiscovered for a number of hours.

PSNI Inspector Edel Stinton said: "At this time we believe the assault may have occurred early on Sunday morning but was not reported to police and the victim was not found until shortly before 5pm on Sunday evening.

"He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition."

A 25-year-old man on Sunday remains in police custody helping officers with their inquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on the non-emergency 101 number.
