Man (21) shot in paramilitary style attack in Belfast
A man has been shot in a paramilitary style attack in west Belfast
The 21-year-old was shot in the leg in the Norglen Grove area on Sunday evening. Two males were seen leaving the area on foot after the shooting.
He was taken to hospital and police described his injuries as not life-threatening.
West Belfast MP Paul Maskey has called for an end to such attacks.
“This latest attack, like previous incidents does not have the support of the local community and those people involved should stop these actions immediately," the Sinn Fein representative said.
“Again we have seen a young man brutalised and no matter the reason given by these groupings, shooting him has not resolved the issue.
“It is time that these groups got off the back of the local community who have clearly stated they do not agree with these attacks.”
Detective Inspector Michelle Griffin has appealed to anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
