Man, 22, arrested in 'firearm' case

A 22-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm after another man was threatened.

Police said a 19-year-old man was confronted in the Hill Street area of Lurgan, Co Armagh, yesterday evening shortly before 5.15pm.

The teenager ran off and was not injured.

Police said the arrested man was detained a short time later on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent, assault on police, resisting police and criminal damage.

Officers appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact them.
