A 24-year-old man has suffered slash wounds to his face during an assault in north Belfast.

He was found in an entry off Glencairn Way shortly after 5am and was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were not thought to be life-threatening.

It is believed he was attacked by another man. Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson has appealed for any witnesses to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency 101 number.
