Man (38) arrested over murder of Belfast takeaway driver Dan Murray

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of 55-year-old Daniel Murray in west Belfast.

Dan Murray was bringing a food order to Lady Street, near the Grosvenor Road, when he was shot in the driver's seat of his car shortly after 10pm on Monday.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Campbell said: "The 38-year-old man was arrested in the West Belfast area on the evening of Wednesday May 11. He is currently in custody at Musgrave Police Station."

A protest rally against the recent violence in Northern Ireland was held on Wednesday night at the shopping complex on the Grosvenor Road.

The rally was addressed by local elected representatives and community leaders.
