Man (48) arrested on suspicion of violent dissident republican activity
A 48-year-old man has been arrested in Londonderry on suspicion of taking part in violent dissident republican activity.
Detective Inspector Andy Workman said detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating violent dissident republican activity arrested the man in Derry on Friday evening.
"He is currently in police custody," he said on Friday.
It is understood the man is being quizzed by police at the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station in Belfast.
This is the third arrest to be made by police looking into dissident republican activity in Derry, following previous arrests on July 1 and June 29. Neither of these men were charged.
