PSNI officers have arrested a man and seized £100,000 worth of suspected cocaine.

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch detained the 34-year-old suspect after officers carried out a search of a vehicle under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Hillsborough Road, Hillsborough on Friday at around 2.30pm.

The vehicle has been seized and the suspected cocaine has been taken away for examination.

The arrested male remains in custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Alan Pyper said: "The cocaine seized today was no doubt destined for distribution and sale on the streets of Northern Ireland and we are delighted to have removed it from circulation. PSNI is continually working to identify those involved in the supply of drugs and put an end to their deadly trade.

"Support from the community is vital in this and I would encourage anyone with information about drug dealing, supply or importation to get in touch with us on 101. With your help we can continue to keep people safe.”
