Man arrested after body found in Belfast
A 57-yesr-old man has been arrested by detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch investigating the sudden death of a man in north Belfast.
A man in his 30s was found dead at residential premises in Carrick Hill at around 1.30pm yesterday.
However, forensic officers spent much of yesterday examining a scene close by in Donegall Lane, which is thought to be connected to the man’s death in some way.
A number of roads in the area, including Donegall Street, were sealed off, but have since reopened.
A PSNI spokesman said a post-mortem will be carried out to establish how the man died.
The 57-year-old is currently assisting the police with their enquiries.
North Belfast MLA William Humphrey extended his sympathy to the dead man’s family and urged anyone with information to contact the police
“This tragic death was a shock to the community,” said the DUP man.
