Man arrested over £75,000 drugs haul is due in court
A man has been charged after £75,000 of drugs were found by police after a search of a property in east Belfast yesterday.
Two men aged 21 and 31 were arrested after a small amount of drugs were found in their car following a police search on the Castlereagh Road.
Officers then searched the property on Belmont Road and discovered what was described as a "significant amount" of suspected class A and B substances.
Both suspects were taken for questioning at a police station. The 31-year-old was later charged with possession of drugs with intent to supply. He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court this morning.
A police spokesman said: "We are determined to remove illegal drugs from circulation and will act on any information provided.
"Drugs bring misery to individuals, families and communities. Police will continue to disrupt and arrest dealers involved in the sale and supply of drugs, bring individuals before the courts and work with communities and partner agencies to reduce the threat."
