Man arrested over Cookstown road rage attack that ended in victim having epileptic fit

Police have arrested a man over a road rage attack in Cookstown that ended in the victim having an epileptic fit.

At 4.35pm on Saturday police and paramedics were called to a report of a 34-year-old male having a seizure in Orritor Street.

The man, who was the driver of a silver Vauxhall Vectra, had been involved in a verbal altercation with the driver of a black Audi A4in Coagh Street.

Both drivers then got out of their vehicles in Orritor Street and the driver of the Audi is believed to have punched the other man, causing him to lose consciousness and subsequently fit.

The assailant fled the scene prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

Police said today (Tuesday) they have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the assault.
