Man arrested over funeral shots salute
Police investigating reports of shots being fired over a coffin in Belfast last week have arrested a man.
The 53-year-old was held in east Belfast last night on suspicion of violent dissident republican activity following an alleged incident.
He was taken to Musgrave PSNI station for questioning by detectives.
Police also carried out searches in west Belfast as part of the investigation.
It comes days after police launched a probe after masked men appeared to fire a volley of shots at a republican funeral in west Belfast.
A video recording of the funeral of Barry McMullan was posted online and included footage showing shots being fired as the funeral cortege passed.
Two young children are seen at the side of the gunmen as they open fire.
They move away as the men dressed in berets and sunglasses appear to begin shooting.
