Man arrested over house assault

A man has been arrested following an assault at a house in Co Fermanagh.

The suspect, 41, was being quizzed about a string of offences - including possession of an offensive weapon, common assault and threats to kill.

This followed an incident at a property on Fairgreen Street in Irvinestown at around 6.40pm on Saturday.

Police received reports that a man had been making threats to a woman, aged in her 20s, at the house.

Another man was assaulted in the same property. He did not require hospital treatment.

The suspect was later charged with several offences including three counts of criminal damage, two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an article with a blade or point in public.
