Man arrested over north Belfast armed robbery

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit robbery in north Belfast on Friday.

At around 2.30pm two men - one armed with a gun - made off with a cash box outside a Post Office on the Oldpark Road.

The pair then headed towards the Cliftondene Crescent area, before getting into a silver Volvo.

It was later recovered by police in Havana Walk.

The 30-year-old man, who was arrested in Lisburn on Saturday evening, has been released on bail pending further police enquiries.
