Man beaten in Cookstown attack and told to leave the country

A man has been beaten and told to leave the country in an attack in Cookstown, Co Tryone.

Four men forced their way into the Gortacar Road home at around 11.30pm on Saturday and attacked a man aged in his 20s.

He was punched kicked and hit with bats before being told to leave the country.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises as a result of the incident.

It is believed that the men made off from the scene in two vehicles.

Two of the men wore overalls and masks and two wore black jeans, boots, green jumpers and balaclavas.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
